Welcome to the online home of the Northern California Whippet Fanciers Association. Founded in 1964, the NCWFA is a club dedicated to the preservation and enjoyment of the Whippet breed. The club puts on events open to the public throughout the year. Whippets are a versatile breed, and our dogs enjoy participating in many different activities, including conformation shows, straight-track and oval-track racing, obedience trials, lure coursing, open field coursing, agility, and tracking.
The NCWFA has several services of interest to the aspiring whippet owner. First of all, we encourage anyone interested in whippets to come to one of our local events and meet the breed up close and personal. If you are looking for a puppy, our Breeder Listing service can help you contact local responsible whippet breeders. NCWFA Whippet Rescue is devoted to the rehabilitation and rehoming of abandoned, neglected or surrendered whippets. If you are interested in joining NCWFA, please visit our Membership Page for more information and a downloadable application.
