Fortunately the weather was not as hot as predicted and the conditions were quite nice for racing our Whippets. Miss Shelby was again the meet winner but today was strongly challenged by June Harrison's fine racer, Fraser. (He had finally got used to the heat). Fraser finished number two and was High Score BOS. Third place went to Carlby who made another fine showing. She again took the top ARX points. Whiskey was fourth and shared the second place ARX points with his sister Lua who finished fifth. Riley ran super and we were all pleased that his toe held up for two days of racing. He took the sixth spot. Seventh place went to another fine running youngster, Cody. Scoot took the eighth spot and Kendal ninth. The final dog in the top ten was Bryce. Bryce has just graduated to adult racing and was most impressive. He looks like another keen and very enthusiastic Grand Prix racer.
Today's match was judged by Eric Scott. Eric's picks were as follows: First place - Bryce. Second place - Scoot. Third place - Miss Shelby. Fourth place - Fraser.
Our thanks to Eric for taking time to come out and judge our conformation.
At this time I would like to extend my sincere thanks and gratitude to the following people. June Harrison and Marie Clark for making the long trip from Canada. We really appreciate your support. My husband Vince, who was a saint. To Todd Willhoyte who was a tremendous help to me. To Rodney Gay, Guin Borstel and her mother Christine, Mary and Frank Wilson, Mary Jean and Ed Odron, Linda and Mike Johnson, Susan Elliott, M.J. Page, Paula Rickert, Mimi, Duane and Carl. To my neighbors, Linda, Paul, Lee, Jennifer, Jaquie, my daughter-in-law Rowena, and my granddaughter Chelsea. (As you can see we had to bring in family and friends). Without the help of you wonderful people this meet would not have been possible. Again thank you SO MUCH. (Hope I did not forget anyone).
I think everyone left happy. I know the dogs did.
